Shareholder urges Nintendo to make free-to-play games, his idea is absolutely horrible though

Look, we all want Nintendo to bring their games to Android, at least to some degree. It could just be the classics if need be. Of course everyone can just use emulators but having a game native to your device does have its benefits. One shareholder is urging Nintendo to reconsider its stance on mobile gaming but what this shareholder is suggesting makes us think that Nintendo can just keep their games if they actually do what this person is suggesting.

Hong Kong hedge fund manager Seth Fischer, who has asked Nintendo to reconsider its stance on mobile gaming before, is doing it once again but this time suggesting that the company release free-to-play games.

We believe Nintendo can create very profitable games based on in-game revenue models with the right development team. Just think of paying 99 cents just to get Mario to jump a little higher.

People are already disliking most of the free-to-play business models incorporated into games, although there are some companies that do it right. However, this sort of blatant money grabbing suggestion is way out of line.

While Nintendo’s stance about mobile gaming is pretty well-known, if they even consider this as a viable option for bringing their games to mobile, then they can just keep their games and we will stick to emulators to enjoy Nintendo’s game library.
