Wizard Golf RPG is a strange but fun looking mix of dungeon crawler and golf

When considering what type of game to make and possibly meshing together a couple of genres for it, golf and dungeon crawler are probably two that you wouldn’t think of mixing together. However that is exactly what developers Floor 27 Industries did and it turns out that it looks like it’s a lot of fun.

As you may be guessing, in Wizard Golf RPG you will be playing golf while dungeon crawling but it isn’t golf in the typical sense. Players will assume control of a wizard and instead of whacking a white ball around with a golf club, you’ll be using golf-like controls to unleash your spells. This means you’ll charge up your spell, just like you would do when building up strength for a shot in gold, aim and unleash said spell.

The interesting thing is this, your spell is how you move. So when you fire off your ‘spell’ you’ll move your wizard the desired strength and distance. It’s a pretty interesting mechanic for a dungeon crawler, especially since avoiding traps and other hazards becomes much more strategic. You’ll also want to grab all the loot and the keys you find so you can make your way to the ladder in each level. That way you can progress to the next floor.

For those of you interested in picking up Wizard Golf RPG, you have a bit of a wait on your hands because the game isn’t officially out yet. It is slated for release sometime later this year.
