[Updated] Classic Action-RPG Darkstone getting remade for mobile, beta sign-ups are now live

Back in 1999 the first version of the hack-n-slash RPG Darkstone was released onto PC and the Playstation. Now Anuman Interactive will be bringing that original game back to life, remaking it for mobile devices. Darkstone has been in development for awhile now and Anuman Interactive is now offering up a beta that people can sign-up and try to get into.

Update March 20th, 2014 11:04am PST: Darkstone is now available on Google Play for free. We’ve added the appropriate link down below.

All of the content from the original game will be brought over to the mobile version. This means players will have 4 different playable classes to chose from and over 100 different levels to hack-n-slash your way through. Since this game was released in 1999, this won’t be your standard 2D retro game but instead will feature all the 3D graphics the game came with as well.

The user interface and controls have been developed for gameplay on phones and tablets though. The only other real change to the game from the original version is that the original voices and sounds have been remixed.

This isn’t a closed beta so anyone can apply for it but there are a limited number of spots available. This means if you want a chance to get into the beta, better to sign-up now rather than later. To sign-up, all you need to do is go to the game’s official Google Group for the Darkstone Beta.
