Nvidia Shield 2 specs show up in new AnTuTu benchmark report

Nvidia has done pretty good with their Nvidia Shield portable Android gaming system, especially with the updates as of late improving all the features that gamers have wanted to have improved including the GameStream technology and button mapping. A new benchmark report from AnTuTu now has the Nvidia Shield 2 specs showing up.

As you may be guessing, this new Shield unit features what is most likely Nvidia’s new superchip, the Tegra K1. This chip is clocked at 2.5Ghz and the Shield 2 will apparently sport a very nice 4GB of RAM. While display size wasn’t shown in the report, the Shield 2 was running at 1440 x 810 resolution. There is also 16GB of storage coming with the Shield 2. Of course these are all early specs and a lot of this could change before the device’s release.

Overall it is a pretty nice improvement over the current Nvidia Shield in terms of hardware specs if these benchmark ones stay true until the Shield 2 release. As for when that is, who knows but as the price for the original Shield goes does, that is usually an indication in the gaming industry that a new unit isn’t far behind.
