Back to Bed by Bedtime Digital Games has had a lengthy development cycle. Fortunately for Android gamers, it will arrive in the Play Store in August. That’s not too long to wait for a game of this caliber. The game was first developed as a student project with the Danish Academy for Digital Interactive Entertainment (DADIU) in 2011. After receiving quite a few awards for the intriguing game play and enchanting graphics, a KickStarter campaign was initiated and successfully funded in 2013. Now, the adventures of a narcoleptic gentleman named Bob and his trusty guardian Subob will make their way to your favorite handheld devices.
In Back to Bed you have to guide the sleepwalker Bob from his sleep inducing office to the safety of his bed by controlling his subconscious guardian Subob, whose job it is to both guide and protect the sleepwalking Bob. The pair will travel through a surreal and painting like world where the boundaries between Bob’s dream and reality have vanished, but where there are still real world dangers that threaten the sleepwalker. Ever vigilant Subob must now guide Bob around dangers and back to bed. – Bedtime Digital Games
If you are fan of 3D puzzle games like Monument Valley, you are in for a treat. Based on what we have seen with the initial game play video, Bedtime Digital Games has ratcheted up the picturesque environments and puzzling factor way beyond ten. To say that most people are excited about the release of this game on their mobile devices doesn’t quite do it justice.
We are glad to hear that the game will be a dual Android/IOS release as well as being released on Steam. Bedtime Digital Games has also mentioned that the game will come with game controller support.
