The Walking Dead: No Man’s Land is an upcoming mobile game for Android that will be released alongside the mid-season premiere of The Walking Dead Season 5. Set in the TV continuity of The Walking Dead, as opposed to TellTale’s game which takes place in the comic book universe, there wasn’t really much revealed in the cinematic trailer for the game other than that there will be zombies. Go figure.
Teemu Huuhtanen, CEO of Next Games, the developer behind No Man’s Land, says that gameplay will involve “Survival strategy, finding safety for your people, balancing between right and wrong and, of course, action when it comes to fighting against the hordes of walkers. We respect the creators of The Walking Dead immensely and want this game to portray the world they have created as closely as possible” So in other words it won’t stray too far from the already tried and true mechanics of most other zombie survival games.
The saving grace for this game not becoming just another zombie survival title could be the developers themselves as Next Games is made up of Rovio, Supercell and Disney veterans. For those of you who don’t follow the show, the mid-season premier is slated for sometime in the beginning of 2015 so we should see this game arrive at around the same time.
