[Update: Pac-Man CEDX Released] More Pac-Man games on the way from Namco Bandai

Namco Bandai, known best for the Pac-Man franchise, has announced two more upcoming entries to their line of Pac-Man games. Pac-Man Friends and Pac-Man CEDX. Both were announced at San Diego Comic Con and are slated to release in the fall.

Update: July 23rd, 2015 3:11pm PST: After almost a year of waiting, Pac-Man Championship Edition DX has finally been released onto Google Play. We’ve added screenshots, a features list, and a link to the game on Google Play below. Picking up a copy of this game will run you $4.99 and it also has optional IAPs as well.

Pac-Man Friends will be a new game in the line, and will rely on tilt controls. The premise of this game for players is that the Pac-Man is out to rescue his friends from the Ghosts’ castle. The game will contain 95 levels of increasing difficulty. Gauging from the screen shots we have, the game will be played from the top down position that is familiar to Pac-Man, though the mazes in this one appear to be quite a departure from the classic style that we’re all familiar with.

Pac-Man Championship Edition DX is the sequel to Pac-Man Championship Edition, which was originally released in 2007. Championship Editions are closer to the Pac-Man of old when compared to the Friends version, but with a vastly improved look and a few new ideas mixed in, like the gameplay speeding up the longer the player takes on a given maze. The DX edition is set to include three different modes that comprise of Score Attack, Time Attack, and Ghost Combo.
