One of the original games, which also happened to be one of the first titles to be successful on the Ouya console, has received a new expansion today called Towerfall: Ascension. This new expansion comes with over 50 new arenas to fight your way through, murdering your friends along the way.
Aside from the new arenas that come with this expansion, Towerfall: Ascension also features new archers to play as, new special arrows that deliver delightful new ways to die, and an all new Quest mode which brings a lot more depth to the game then just shooting your friends in the face with an arrow.
Quest mode is pretty much as it sounds. 1-2 players can work together to complete a variety of different quests should you feel like taking a break from your usual murdering spree in-game. There are also some new game mechanics that have arrived with this expansion such as the ability to use a Melee-Stomp type of action that, when you kill an opponent doing using this move, will bring him back to life as a Ghost. These are dead players which rise again as monochrome phantasms whose very touch spells death.
This sequel, or expansion depending on what you want to call it, can be downloaded for free if you already own a copy of the original Towerfall. If you don’t own a copy of this game, you can pick one up for your Ouya console for $14.99.
