Gekido, a fighting game that originates on the PlayStation (PS1) with Gekido: Urban Fighters, is making a return to mobile platforms. This new game will feature hand-drawn 2D graphics, unlike in polygonal predecessor.
Revealed in an article on Pocket Gamer, the new Gekido from its developer Naps will be the third game in the series. The second game was a spin-off released for the Game Boy Advance titled Gekido Advance: Kintaro’s Revenge. Worth noting is that a new Gekido game was announced in 2005 and never saw the light of day. Naps says the new Gekido for as they put it a “touch generation” could release as early as the beginning of 2015.
