Minecraft: Pocket Edition 0.10.0 update should be arriving soon

Mojang has submitted the newest Minecraft: Pocket Edition update to Apple for approval which generally means that the Android version should also be getting this update pretty soon. While this is a major version number change, the update being version 0.10.0, about 65% of this update happens to be tweaks and improvements to the game, while the remaining 35% consists of new features.

With that said, here is what you can expect to find when the 0.10.0 update is released. Day/Night cycles have been added to creative mode, there is actually sound for running water, Fences and Fence Gate will be available in Spruce, Birch, Jungle, Acacia, Dark Oak, and a whole lot of bug fixes and tweaks as well. There will also be plenty of visual tweaks as well such as the Sun being slightly larger, smoother lighting and texture for water, and clouds and the terrain are now tinted red during sunset.

The announcement of the 0.10.0 update being sent to Apple came way of a post from Johan Bernhardsson on Twitter as per usual. While no word of when the Android version of the update would be pushed out onto Google Play, it usually happens either right before or, in some rare cases right after, the iOS version is released. So we should see the update arriving soon either way unless something has suddenly changed after Mojang was bought for $2.5B by Microsoft. For the full list of changes, you will want to check out the official Minecraft Wiki. We will post an update when the 0.10.0 arrives for Android.
