Top 3 choices of Android phones for mobile gaming in 2015

2014 has been and gone, leaving us one year older and not much wiser. What it has left us with, however, is the best smartphones to date, with bigger and better core processors, screen resolutions and RAM which enables the best (and the worst) gamers out there to shoot down candy, throw birds and run through temples with ease.

Of course in reality, nothing is built equal and we can safely say that some phones are better than others in the mobile phone gaming sector. If you’re more addicted to Flappy Bird than Twitter, you need to grab yourself one of these.

1. Samsung Galaxy Note 4

With its powerful 2.7Ghz quad-core processor and 3GB RAM, the Galaxy Note 4 has more than enough power to play any mobile game without experiencing lag or slow loading time. The mighty 5.7 inch QHD display boasts an insane 2,560 x 1,440 resolution with a pixel density of 515ppi, meaning a crystal clear, bright screen that games just look stunning on. It’s 32GB storage and microSD card slot means that there should be more than enough space to download and play any game you want.

With the Galaxy Note 5 expected to be released sometime in 2015, we can expect late 2015 to have a new winner for mobile gaming.

2. LG G3

Like the Note 4, LG G3 has a QHD display with a screen resolution of 2,560 x 1,440, which translates to a slightly higher pixel density of 538 ppi due to its smaller 5.5 inch screen. We’ve scored it second due its use of the older Snapdragon 801 processor and the standard model coming with only 2GB RAM and 16GB storage, however its specs are more than powerful enough to run any mobile game and its considerably lower price make it the best option for those wanting budget friendly options.

3. Sony Xperia Z3

Although a smaller screen size and resolution than the Note 4 and G3, the Z3’s 5.2 inch display with a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution still racks in an impressive 424ppi pixel density, creating more than aesthetically pleasing visuals during gaming. Like the G3, it uses Snapdragon 801 with Quad-core 2.5GZ, however it comes with 3GB RAM helping it run games slightly smoother.

One killer feature which the Z3 has above competitors is PS4 Remote Play. PS4 owners with a PS4 DualShock controller can now play their PlayStation through their phone, creating the perfect handheld gaming console which doesn’t compromise on controls and frees up the TV.

As 2015 draws on, we’re expecting the release of the Note 5, G4 and Z4 to really blow these versions out of the water in terms of specs, meaning one thing: an even better gaming experience.
