Spacetime Studios will be dropping development of most of their older titles to focus on a select few

Interesting news coming out of Spacetime Studios as the company has announced that they will no longer be updating a majority of their older titles, and even some of their newer ones. Instead the company will focus on a select few titles: Arcane Legends, Battle Command, and a new unannounced project. Everything else will no longer be receiving updates. This does not mean the rest of their games are shutting down.

What this does mean though is that Spacetime Studios will be focusing their resources on future updates for Arcade Legends, Battle Command, and their current project that is in the works. The rest of their games will remain running for the foreseeable future. They will not be receiving content updates or anything of that nature though. The games affected by this decision include Pocket Legends, Star Legends, Dark Legends, Arcane Battlegrounds, and Battle Dragons.

The reason for this massive change? It was simply too draining on the company to keep all of these game going with fresh content with their limited resources. The entire announcement game via a post on the Spacetime Studios forums:

We will no longer be updating Pocket, Star, or Dark Legends. We also will no longer be updating Battle Dragons or Arcane Battlegrounds. This includes weekly 2x bonuses and seasonal events. We are not sunsetting (shutting down) these games. We will keep all of them running for the foreseeable future, but we are not going to be adding anything new. The drain is simply too great on our limited resources. Gary Gattis, CEO, Spacetime Studios

If you have followed this site for a long time then you know we have been reporting on all of these games since Pocket Legends first hit Android, even bringing you exclusive looks into games before they were released. Needless to say this is a bit of a shock to us all here and we can imagine it is to our readers who play Spacetime Studios’ titles as well. While most of the games we can understand but Pocket Legends was the company’s intro into the mobile game arena on Android. It’s surprising to hear that this is one of the titles having its development stopped.

As for the company’s upcoming game, there is very little detail about it aside from the fact that it will be another PvP focused game. We will be contacting Gary to see if we can get any additional information regarding the ceasing of development on these games as well as hopefully finding out more about this announced project. If you play any of these games that are affected by this decision, let us know what you think in the comments below. You can read the official announcement over on the Spacetime forums.

Thanks to everyone who sent this in!
