[Update: Released] DotEmu and Ubisoft are teaming up to bring Heroes of Might and Magic III to mobile

Today Ubisoft has announced that they will be teaming up with retro game porting specialists DotEemu to bring the turn-based strategy game Heroes of Might and Magic III to mobile devices. This new version of this game will feature HD graphics, bringing a bit more life to the game on mobile devices.

Update: January 29th, 2015 12:01pm PST: Ubisoft and DotEmu have finally released Hearoes of Might & Magic III HD onto Google Play. Remember, this is for tablets and supported phablets. Price tag for this game is $9.99 and you can pick it up through the link at the bottom.

Originally Heroes of Might and Magic III was released back in 1999. While tis game will be receiving a bit of a face lift in the visuals department, the actual content and storyline of the game will remain faithful to the original version. That means there will be seven campaign scenarios, 48 skirmish maps, a local multiplayer mode. The revamped PC version that is also coming out will feature a map editor and multiplayer mode through Steam.

From what we can tell with the information that has been released, it looks like Heroes of Might and Magic III will be released onto Android tablets. We do not have confirmation as of yet regarding whether or not Android phones will be able to play this game. As for when we can expect this game to hit Google Play, you’ll be able to pick up your copy on January 29th, 2015. No word on pricing as of yet.
