Jelly Jump is Another Successful One-Touch Button Game from Ketchapp

Ketchapp Games is on a roll when it comes to finding quick and fun to play one-touch-button games. You don’t have to look very far to find one in the top twenty-five in the Play Store. Games like The Tower, ZigZag, Skyward and Run Bird Run, are just a few of the enjoyable one-tap challenging games, that they have helped bring to Android mobile devices.

The latest game for Android users to enjoy was created by Wildroad Games, and published by Ketchapp. We don’t know much about Wildroad Games. What we do know, is that they have created a visually colorful, and trance inducing fun game. The game play is all wrapped up in trying to get a jelly cube to jump just in time to land on a platform above. It is a simple premise, but can be very challenging to achieve. As with a lot of the games that Ketchapp has published, it is all about getting the high score, like games of old. It looks easy to do, but of course that is not the case. That is part of what makes the game fun, and has you restarting to try it again and again. The best part is that it is simple enough for anyone in your family to play.

“Little jellies need you more than ever before! They keep drowning over and over again. Only you can keep them safe… Jump higher, survive longer and never give up! Collect little jelly blobs and craft new jellies out of them.” Ketchapp Games

Here is what you need to accomplish. You must press your screen in time to launch your jelly before the platform above closes in on both sides. The platforms close in at varying speeds. At times, the platform comes up from beneath you. If you don’t jump in time, you will drown in the dark waters coming up from below. Get ready, because you will drown a lot. If the drowning doesn’t get you, getting stuck between the rapidly closing platforms will.

As you reach certain heights in the game, jelly is hanging in the air that you can collect. Collecting jelly gives you the opportunity to have a power-up to bypass platforms. The first power-up allows you to bypass ten floors. There are additional ones that you can purchase with the jelly drops that you collect.

The environment that the game is set in changes colors quite often. I think this is part of the visual appeal of the game because you don’t want to focus to much on anything else, but it is nice to have it change. The cube changes colors as well as the city that looms beyond. You can expect the colors to change on the next run, after you have been consumed from the waters below. The music is a looping ambient track that fits in with the futuristic setting.

Don’t expect to get a really high score starting off. I have only gotten to thirty-two successful jumps so far, but it took quite a few plays. If you have good hand-eye coordination, you should do well with this game. It is all about the timing.

There appears to be a magic number when it comes to collecting the jelly globs. Once you have collected 200 globs of jelly, you are able to unlock a different jelly form. I have unlocked three additional jellies so far. It seems, though I can’t be certain, the jellies perform differently. Let us know if you agree after you have unlocked a few.

Jelly Jump is a free to play game, just like other Ketchapp Games. The only thing that is currently frustrating about the game is the location of the ad. The ad banner is at the bottom of your screen, so you have to touch above the banner to get your jelly to jump. There is a button to remove the ads. You can remove the ads for $1.99. There is also an IAP button. However when you depress it, nothing happens.

Overall, Jelly Jump is an enjoyable game that Wildroad Games has created. Though the premise is simple, everything is put together and packaged quite nicely, which makes this game fun, challenging and visually appealing. If you have a few moments on your subway commute or are waiting at the DMV and want to play a good game, check out Jelly Jump. Let us know your high score.
