Square Enix has begun a soft launch for their upcoming Final Fantasy game called Final Fantasy: Record Keeper. Like most soft launches, this one is specific to certain regions in the world and so far we know that the game is available to folks who live in Canada. If it follows the usual approach game developers use with soft launches, then this game should be available in regions such as Australia and New Zealand, although we have no confirmation on that just yet. Canada, however, is confirmed.
Update March 26th, 2015 8:00am PST: In a rather quick turn of events, DeNA and Square Enix have globally released Final Fantasy: Record Keeper onto Android. Final Fantasy: Record Keeper, for those of you who missed our previous coverage, is a new game that is actually based off of the entire Final Fantasy series. It is a team effort between Square Enix and DeNA, which means that this game is also free-to-play and has optional IAPs as well. This game lets lets players experience all of their favorite moments from all of the Final Fantasy games, from the original Final Fantasy all the way up to the very newest title. This also means that all of the main characters from past games are in this one.

Characters can be completely customized and equipped with iconic gear, powerful spells, summons, and hundreds of weapon from all of the previous games. However, even though the events, characters, gear, and so on are from previous games, the storyline is actually new. So they created a new storyline out of previously existing events that happen to be fan favorites.
As for when Final Fantasy: Record Keeper will launch globally, there is no word on that just yet. Hopefully the wait won’t be much longer since the soft launch has begun.
