The upcoming Blackrock Mountain adventure update for Hearthstone will be arriving April 2nd

So a leak happened yesterday where the date April 2nd, 2015 was possibly tied to the upcoming Blackrock Mountain adventure update that is heading to Hearthstone in the near future. As it turns out, Blizzard has now confirmed that April 2nd, 2015 is the launch date for the adventure update.

In case you missed our previous coverage, this will be the second adventure update for Hearthstone and yes, it will be available for all platforms when it launches. An adventure update is what the Naxxramas update was not too long ago, where players had wings they needed to complete and in doing so would be awarded new cards that are only available through the adventure update.

Here’s the official storyline for the upcoming Blackrock Mountain adventure update:

Trouble stirs beneath Blackrock Mountain. Deep within the fiery cracks of the Molten Core, Ragnaros the Firelord is massing his elemental forces, posing a serious threat to the black dragon Nefarian’s mountaintop lair. Things are about to reach a flashpoint… better break out the cards and show these two how real heroes settle their differences: with a civilized game of Hearthstone!

In total there will be an additional 31 cards arriving to Hearthstone when the adventure update lands. Like before, players will have a free wing to play through and then additional wings can be purchased and unlocked each week. However, you can also buy the entire update for one price, which is discounted over buying each wing individually. In fact pre-ordering Blackrock Mountain will net you the Blackrock Mountain card back which is only available to people who pre-ordered the adventure update.

So Hearthstone fans, you have less than a week before Blackrock Mountain arrives for Hearthstone.
