SNK Playmore released Fatal Fury Special on Android

Originally released in 1993 by SNK, Fatal Fury Special has been released for Android. Originally the game was released as an updated version of Fatal Fury 2, though SNK asserts that this mobile release is more, having revised the balance of the game, and introduced a new system for combos (which apparently weren’t included at all, in versions previous to the original release of Fatal Fury Special).

This game includes the same 16 characters as were included in the original release. And like the other fighting games re-released by SNK Playmore, there are two sets of virtual buttons that players can choose from: the original four buttons made available in arcade machines, as well as a new six button scheme that includes an SP button dedicated to assisting mobile players in performing combos on touch screens.

Fatal Fury Special Features:

– One of the most highly praised “FATAL FURY” titles: ”FATAL FURY SPECIAL” was a worldwide hit in the arcades and a blast in the fighting game genre at its release thanks to the high quality of its game mechanics and its 16 charismatic fighters!
– A refined game system: ”FATAL FURY SPECIAL” is more than an update to “FATAL FURY 2” with its overall revised game balance and its brand new combo system! Moreover, characters can activate their Desperation Move to change the outcome of the battle!
– 16 fighters clash: In addition to the series’ iconic characters “Terry Bogard”, “Andy Bogard”, and “Joe Higashi”, popular SNK characters such as “Mai Shiranui”, “Geese Howard”, and “Wolfgang Krauser” join the battle. Furthermore, “Ryo Sakazaki”, who was originally hidden in the original game, is now playable from start!
– A perfect NEO GEO port with added features: In addition to the original 4 button arcade experience, a 6 button layout featuring exclusive “SP” (Simplified Special Moves activation / Line Blast) and “LS” (Line Sway) buttons is also available for an even better game experience!
– Versus Battles are hot: Challenge your friends in intense and epic battles via the Bluetooth functionality of your smartphone.

If it’s like the others that I’ve played, players will have other options like screen size, button size and transparency, as well as their placement on the screen, so players can organize the layout just to their liking. Fatal Fury Special is available on Google Play for $3.99. You can check out the game in action in the video below before decided whether or not you want to drop some money on it.
