Telltale Games’ rather popular series Game of Thrones has the first episode free today on Amazon’s Appstore. Interestingly enough, it isn’t the Free App of the Day. Instead it just happens that Telltale Games or Amazon decided to make it free on there.
For those of you not familiar with this game, the Game of Thrones game series is based off of the TV show on HBO and not the books. However it doesn’t actually follow the TV show but more or less deals with some of the side stories of the characters in the TV show as it takes place. It is an adventure game so you are going through the story and making choices as they are presented to you. Depending on the choices you make, the story will lead you in different directions.

So far there are three episodes out for Game of Thrones, with the fourth one currently in the works. This free game is for the first episode. The other two you will still have to buy but it is a good way to get into the series without spending money if you haven’t already yet begun playing this game. We don’t know how long this will be free though so if you plan to get it, best to do so sooner rather than later before it goes back up to $4.99.
