Nexon seems to be on a bit of a roll lately with mobile game announcements and releases. So far in the last month or so Nexon has announced a partnership with Square Enix for a new Final Fantasy game called Final Fantasy Grandmasters, and held a closed beta for their upcoming TCG title called Mabinogi Duel which was actually pretty decent. More recently they also teamed up with Big Huge Games for the release of DomiNations. So the company has been pretty busy in the mobile game realm.
Today marks another game announcement coming from Nexon Korea for a game called Fantasy War Tactics. The title of this game says a lot about what this game is. Fantasy War Tactics is a tactical strategy RPG so everything combat-wise is turn-based. This game will feature both a large single-player campaign as well as multiplayer PvP combat. All of this can be done through the use of 50 customizable Hero characters that you will be using and collecting. One thing to note here is that Nexon mentions that all 50 of these characters can be unlocked and playable through playing the game. This basically hints at what some of the IAPs are going to be.
The single-player campaign has players controlling a wizard who is all about conquering the world but ironically another wizard has already beaten you to it. So you will have to take him down in order to achieve your goal. Along the way you will meet new heroes who will help you in the single-player campaign as well as becoming playable in multiplayer combat. In both modes, players will need to take advantage of movement, terrain, ranges, and hero skills in order to do well in this game. Team build is also pretty strategic as well.
If you are interested in checking this out ahead of release, beta testing sign-ups are now live. This beta is only for a short period of time though. The full release of this game will be happening later this year.
