up until now Double Fine Productions’ Broken Age game has only been available, regarding the Android platform that is, on the Ouya console. That was back in the Summer of 2014 and since then has only been available on the Ouya console. A couple of days ago Broken Age finally made the jump from Ouya to the Google Play store.
For those of you not familiar with this game, Broken Age is a point-and-click adventure game which originally wasn’t going to be coming to Android, but thanks to a rather massively successful Kickstarter campaign, it ended up coming to Android but as an exclusive to the Ouya console. Whether this game showing up on Google Play after all this time was part of the exclusive agreement, or due to the recently reported on the sale of the Ouya company, is unknown at this time. Either way it is a good thing for non-Ouya owners who have wanted to play this game but couldn’t.
The story in Broken Age goes a little something like this, there is a boy and girl (Vella Tartine and Shay Volta) who are living parallel lives on different worlds. The girl is to be a sacrifice to a terrible monster while the boy lives alone on a spaceship. From there the adventure begins. Players will be helping both characters take control of their lives and to deal with the subsequent adventures that happen due to this. Players will be able to switch between each character at any time.
Broken Age has a lot of big name stars doing the voice acting in it such as Elijah Wood as Shay, Masasa Moyo as Vella, Jack Black as Harm’ny Lightbeard, Jennifer Hale as Mom, and Wil Wheaton as Curtis. Visualls, Broken Age is also a pretty solid title and overall, if you like point-and-click adventure games, this is one to seriously consider checking out.
