ZQGames offers up an interesting new event called the Ban Hammer Welcome Event for ex-World of Warcraft players

Once in awhile we get some rather odd news to post, whether it be a strange cross-over event or something else, and today seems to be one of those days. ZQGames has announced a new event they are going to be holding called the Ban Hammer Welcome Event which is geared towards hardcore gamers and the company is targeting ex-World of Warcraft players who left the game last week.

The entire concept seems strange when you read this but a little background information may clear up said confusion. Essentially last week there were reports of a sort of mass exodus from World of Warcraft regarding players who use bots to automate some of the gameplay within World of Warcraft. This is usually regarding farming monsters for materials and other items. The use of bots is a controversial subject. Personally I think a game should be played manually and not automated, otherwise it is just not as fun, even with mundane things like farming materials in World of Warcraft. Other people thing the opposite.

The mass exodus from World of Warcraft mainly came in the form of bans for people using bots, but there were plenty of people who left willingly as well based on the principle that people who use bots are not always cheaters or gold farmers. Regardless of what you or I believe in, ZQGames is hosting an event which caps off at 100,000 ‘refugees’ from the mass exodus for both their games, Soul Gaurdians: Age of Midgard and Celestia: Broken Sky.

We feel it is not fair to assume all players using auto-play are cheaters. After finding that a majority of our gamers tend to multi-task while playing, we decided to insert auto-play options. It has been well received and now is a permanent fixture in all of our games. Having this feature also negates the need for anyone to use third-party software to automate gameplay, which this whole controversy surrounds. – Elliot Almanza, Community Manager, ZQGame Global

Both of ZQGames’ titles offer different sorts of auto-play functionality. Regardless of what game you got to, ZQGames is offering new players who download and play Soul Guardians or Celestia, starting today, exclusive rewards when they login and play anytime during the weekend, which we are guessing is this upcoming weekend. Exclusive event items are limited to the first 100,000 new players. Both games are free to download and play with optional IAPs available.
