Fans of the Harvest Moon franchise have a lot to look forward to with the announcement today of a full Harvest Moon game heading to Android soon. The full name for this game is Harvest Moon: Seeds of Memories and will be the first mainline full Harvest Moon game to land on mobile devices. The franchise itself has been around since the mid-1990s and has built up quite the fan base since the original game’s release.
If you happen to not be familiar with the Harvest Moon franchise, these are a blend of farming simulator and RPG gaming all wrapped into one title. The release of Seeds of Memories goes back to the roots of the franchise, bringing heavy influence to this new game from the old-school gameplay found in the original titles. Players are tasked with the job of revitalizing a farm that they have taken control of near a new village. Players will not only have to deal with all the chores of running a farm, but also with befriending villagers. This will open of ‘quests’ of sorts which revolve around these Seeds of Memories.
Unlocking these Seeds can be done in a variety of ways. Players can go to a villager and give them their favorite item, catching a giant fish, or by raising their first cow, as an example. The end goal, aside from revitalizing your farm, is to collect all the Seeds of Memories. You will have all the animals you would normally see on a farm available to you as well as activities like cooking, fishing, foraging, and mining. You will also need to upgrade your items and gear along the way.
There also happens to be different events available in-game to participate in such as a cooking contest or the Starry Night Festival. If you really want to get into the game, you can also attempt to ‘woo’ one of the ten available candidates for marriage. In other words, there will be a lot to do in this game.
Unfortunately, Android gamers who want to get their hands on Harvest Moon: Seeds of Memories right away will actually have a bit of a wait on their hands. This game isn’t slated for release onto Android until sometime in the Winter of this year. However, since we are going to E3 2015, we will be going hands-on with Harvest Moon: Seeds of Memories so you can look forward to that showing up soon.
