A new Oddworld mobile game will be heading our way soon called Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee

There is a new Oddworld game heading to mobile soon and this new mobile version of Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee is going to be used to basically help with the re-launch of Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee for PC on Steam as well. Square One Games, the folks behind Oddworl: Stranger’s Wrath, will be making the mobile version of Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee, which is actually done already. It won’t be released just yet though, not until the revamping of the PC version is almost done.

Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee is an platformer style of game, so it is actually quite different than Stranger’s Wrath. However, this will be remade with improved visuals to really bring this game back to life. For those of you not familiar with this game, players will be following the story of Munch, along with his friend Abe, who is intent on delivering payback to the Vykkers corporation. This game, for those of you following the storyline of the series, takes place after the events of Abe’s Exoddus.

Munch, whose species has been commercially fished to near-extinction, is the last surviving Gabbit and is out for revenge against the company who has basically killed off the entire species, due to their eggs being harvested for a delicacy known as “Gabbiar” and their lungs used as replacements for those of the Glukkons. Players will need to take advantage of using both Abe and Munch, working as a team, in order to complete each stage. Each one has their own unique abilities that players will need to use, such as Abe being able to climb and jump to certain areas while Munch can swim around areas that Abe can’t.

Right now there is no word on exactly when Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee will hit mobile devices, only that it will be released soon. If you own the Steam version of this game, you will get the new and improved version for PC for free. That doesn’t apply to the mobile version however. As for pricing or controller support, no word on either of those as well just yet. We will be checking this game out during E3, so if you have any questions, let us know now in the comments below.
