Valve’s official Steam app has finally been updated with a Material design

Valve has finally gotten around to updating their official Steam application on Android, changing the User Interface to reflect more of a Material design look instead of the old UI it had which honestly was pretty ugly. Of course looks aren’t everything and the app usually did its job, but having a nice looking application always helps.

While the new UI is actually not 100% Material design, it is relatively close to it so we should all be happy it doesn’t look anywhere near as ugly as it used to. Switching from one screen to another has been sped up quite a bit as well. There are a few other improvements to this application as well including chat history from offline friends is now available, and there are some new links in the menu as well: Inventory, Library, Offline on Chat and Log Out.

Also the Mobile Steam Guard Authenticator has been tweaked with a bug fix that now has it run properly, so it can generate the correct codes, which is usually a helpful thing to have. If you use the Steam application, you can download the new update off of Google Play anytime.
