One of the more highly anticipated MOBA games for Android has been in a beta testing phase for quite awhile now, with the developers having tweaked and tweaked this version of the game the entire time. However, if you didn’t get into the beta, you’ve only been able to sit on the sidelines this entire time.That will be changing soon though as Vainglory now has an official release time frame for Android devices.
Update: June 29th, 2015 – 8:28 PM, PST: It looks like VainGlory, the popular MOBA game that we had an opportunity to play during the Beta, has arrived in the Google Play Store a bit early. If you enjoy MOBA games, this is one extremely well-polished, and popular with iOS gamers. The game is available to download for free, and does include in-app purchases, should you choose to take advantage of them. The link to download the game is at the end of the article.
Update: June 25th, 2015 8:48am PST: Just a quick update to confirm that the release date for Vainglory is July 2nd, 2015. We will post another update once it has launched, So get ready for an official release finally!
For those of you not familiar with Vainglory, this was one of the first MOBA games (outside of Heroes of Order & Chaos) to change things up a bit in order to make a competitive MOBA title for mobile devices. Since then other titles have come along, some being released, while others are still in development. So far Vainglory has been in beta testing for months, and we’ve been playing in the beta the entire time, watching the improvements happen. When this game officially launches, it will be with the 1.6 update which brings ranked queue, new hero Rona the Berserker, a ton of fixes, and the long awaited Android support.
Vainglory will support over 150 different Android devices, so unless your device is from 5 years ago, you should be okay to play this game. If you’re not familiar with this game, Vainglory has two teams of players squaring off against one another with the main objective being to destroy your opponents base. This is a full MOBA game so there are minions, defensive towers to deal with, skill trees for each hero, and upgrade items as well. Each hero has their own type of class, which could be either warrior, ranged, magic user, sniper, and so on. However it is up to you how you upgrade your hero during a match.
While Vainglory doesn’t have an exact release date yet, we can tell from the pre-registration that just went live around what time Vainglory will launch. Players who sign-up for Vainglory before July 2nd will receive Taka, the deadly assassin, for free at launch. There is also a Twitter promotion going on to unlock ICE as well as Double Glory weekends. Details for those are available on the Vainglory website as is pre-gresitration.
So we should expect Vainglory to launch just after July 2nd, 2015, which is the cut off for pre-registration. We will post an update once the game goes live on Google Play, or if an exact release date is announced.
