One of the highest rated game demos for the Samsung Gear VR has been Anshar Wars. Now the developers behind that game have released launch details for the sequel to Anshar Wars, also coming for the Samsung Gear VR headset. For those of you unfamiliar with this series, Anshar Wars 2 is a space combat game where you control your spaceship using your head.
Basically we mean that depending on where you look, that is the direction your ship will be facing. There is no need for controllers, keyboards, or anything else when it comes to playing Anshar Wars 2. This makes is a pretty unique game considering the genre it falls into, with most games in this category usually requiring a controller at least for firing weapons.
Players will pick the ship they want to use, before heading out and completing missions in a ship-to-ship style of combat (a.k.a aerial dogfighting). While a lot of the action happens in space, there will be times that you’ll be heading planet-side during combat as well. Of course along the way you will have the opportunity to unlock and use upgrades to make your current ship of choice more powerful.
We wanted the game to reach another level beyond pure dogfighting. While dogfighting is still an important part of the gameplay, players of Anshar Wars 2 will have to complete mission objectives on various environments. Anshar Wars 2 will be available for download this Fall and it will work with both versions of the Gear VR headset (the Galaxy Note 4 and the Galaxy S6). No word on pricing as of yet.
