Albion Online’s Summer Alpha ends next week, will have a Castle Rock’n’Roll event take place

Well for those of you who managed to partake in the Summer Alpha testing phase for Albion Online, our fun times will be coming to a close soon. The Summer Alpha program will be ending on July 27th which is Monday of next week, but it won’t be closing without a bang.

In order to celebrate a successful Summer alpha testing phase, the developers have organized a big event called Castle Rock’n’Roll, which will happen on Monday next week. This time the event won’t be a little PvE type of thing. Instead it will be a heavily PvP focused event.

Castle Rock N’Roll Event

The Details:
– There are: 3 castles, 3 alliances, 3(+) developers
– What to do: Steal a developer from the rival’s castle by conquering it and bring him or her into your own castle(s).
– How to win: Alliance who has most developers in their castle(s) by the end of the Event will win!
– When: 27 July, Monday 3pm-6pm UTC (5pm Berlin time, 11am New York time)

The Setting:
All players have to join a guild
All guilds have to join one of 3 alliances (see below)
Each alliance owns one castle initially, containing 1 developer

The Gameplay:
Each alliance has to try to conquer the opposing castles, thereby fighting off the castle guards and the defending alliance
When successfully conquering a castle, the developer in that castle changes ownership and joins the attacking alliance
Developers will follow the alliance that “conquered” them
Developers have to be “collected” in one of the castles that an alliance owns
There may be developers spawning in other areas of Albion that can also be captured and brought to castles
At the same time, alliances will have to invest resources (i.e. manpower) in order to defend the castles they already own

The Goal:
Alliances have to collect as many developers as possible in one of their castle
The alliance with the most developers in one castle at the end of the event wins

If you are in an alliance already, your alliance will need to sign up as participating as one of the three official Guilds (a.k.a Teams) for this event. If you’re a solo player, it is pretty much the same deal, except it will be just you picking the team you want to be on and not your entire alliance. You have to sign-up in the appropriate Team’s forum thread to be able to participate in this event. You have until Monday at 12am UTC to register for this event.

Hopefully, after this Summer Alpha ends, we will see much more progress in having Albion Online officially launch as a full release instead of another Alpha. We will also be happy with an open beta at least. The game is pretty much done already, although the Android version does need some optimization to happen in order to make it play smoothly. Right now in busy sections there can be some render lag that happens. Optimizing the game more, mainly the visuals we are guessing, should cure that.

If you want to sign up and participate in this event, hit up the link below, scroll down a bit, and you should see the three ‘teams’ you can pick from and sign up with.
