NetEase will host a free concert at PAX Prime featuring Steve Aoki to celebrate Speedy Ninja’s launch

PAX Prime 2015 is coming up rather quickly and it seem developers are eager to try out new things this year to bring attention to their games. We already have Telltale Games hosting a special ‘Crowd Play’ event at the show where up to 500 people can sit down with the developers and play through the new upcoming Episode 4: Escape Plan Bravo for Tales from the Borderlands.

NetEase is also hosting a live event but of a different nature. The company will be teaming up with EDM DJ/Producer Steve Aoki for a free concert in order to celebrate the upcoming launch of Speedy Ninja. This particular game is NetEase’s first mobile game launch in the Western market, with many more planned in the near future.

Anybody who knows me understands I’m passionate about dance music, so I was stoked when NetEase offered me the opportunity to perform a free concert for my fans. I’m a huge gamer myself and was immediately pulled in by Speedy Ninja’s art style and fast-paced gameplay. It’s cool to help this company celebrate the launch of their first game. – Steve Aoki

We actually got to play Speedy Ninja during GDC 2015 this year and it was actually pretty fun and has a pretty unique art style to it. It is an endless runner with action gameplay layered over it. This game is very acrobatic as players run through bamboo forests and the high skies that are run by dragons, taking out enemies and collecting money for upgrades. Rounding out everything is the game’s Asian calligraphy art style and competitive online gameplay.

The Steve Aoki concert will be only for PAX Prime attendees, so you must have a valid PAX Prime pass to gain entry. The concert takes place on Friday, August 28 at the EMP Museum in Seattle with doors opening at 8 PM PDT. NetEase is also giving away (2) four-day passes to PAX Prime and (2) VIP passes for guaranteed entry to the Steve Aoki concert. To enter you will need to head over to NetEase’s Facebook page.
