This week’s Tavern Brawl in Hearthstone is all about the upcoming Grand Tournament cards

Been reading up on all the new Hearthstone cards and mechanics that are set to arrive when Blizzard unleashes The Grand Tournament expansion soon? Wish you could get your itchy little hands on those cards now to play with them? Well Blizzard is actually going to let you do just that in this week’s Tavern Brawl which starts tomorrow.

Since the mechanics and rulesets for Tavern Brawl change each week, Blizzard has apparently decided to show off the new cards coming in the upcoming Grand Tournament expansion by letting players use them in this week’s Tavern Brawl. Blizzard has made this official with a post on the Hearthstone blog announcing the Grand Tournament Match, which is the name for this week’s Tavern Brawl.

While we may not see all the cards coming with the Grand Tournament expansion show up this week, we will see some of them. The Tavern Brawl will be similar to that of the Ragnaros vs Nefarian in that there will be two characters that you can play as:

One, led by that mysterious master of magic, Medivh, will be packed with minions eager to heed your call to battle and power up with Inspire. Standing against them will be the mistress of the hunt, Alleria, along with a full cadre of master jousters who are poised to grow mighty with each contest won.

It also looks like two of the new mechanics coming in the Grand Tournament expansion will be showcased in this Tavern Brawl, with one deck featuring Inspire effect cards, while the other deck has Joust cards in it. So if you want to get a little early hands-on time with Grand Tournament cards before the expansion launches, this week would be the time to do it. The Grand Tournament Match Tavern Brawl begins tomorrow like always and runs until Sunday. If rumors are true, as well as past Hearthstone expansion history, we could see the official launch of the Grand Tournament expansion on Monday.
