Pixonic globally releases Walking War Robots onto Google Play

“Here I sit, strapped down in the cockpit of my Destrier Mech. As I wait in the staging area of a city for the match to begin I look around and I see 5 of my fellow mech pilots waiting anxiously for the green light. There it is, the go signal. I kick my mech into gear as it lurches forward lumbering in between the city buildings towards objective Beacon B. My HUD lights up red as I catch a brief glimpse of 2 targets before they disappear behind a tall building. From behind one of my teammates fires off a salvo of missiles.”

“I watch them steak off and detonate harmlessly against a building to my right. Darting between cover I duck back just in time, a hail of bullets flies by me and peppers the wall by my cockpit. Another teammate to my left charges forward spewing bursts of fire from his Autocannons pushing my attack back. I decide to try and flank his target while they are distracted, moving off to the left I come around from the side. My teammate has them pinned down and distracted. Lining up my sights I get a diamond shape lock on the enemy mech, telling me that my missiles are locked on. I fire a salvo off as I trigger a long burst from my Autocannon. I see a satisfying puff of smoke as my missiles slam into the mech followed by shower of sparks as my rounds tear through his armor.”

“As the mech shudders from the explosions a single escape pod launches the pilot to safety as his mech comes crashing down. I see Beacon B and quickly move in to capture it. Suddenly explosions rock my mech. I’m showered in a hail of artillery that relentlessly falls on my position. I try and back out of the chaos when suddenly I get an alert that my mechs legs have been damaged. I turn and limp toward the building as a few rounds of cannon fire ricochet off me. I’m almost to the building when a hulking mech rounds the corner. Its twin AC Molots spinning up as they unleash fiery death upon me….Eject! Eject! Eject!”

Walking War Robots is a new Mech game released by Pixonic LLC. This game was released onto iOS and has garnered 2 million downloads as of June. It has just become available in all countries for Android and is available on the Google Play Store now. Anyone that has ever played a MechWarrior Game or played Hawken on the PC will instantly feel at home here. The main concept is to equip your robot with a weapon load out, and then join in a 6 v.s. 6 multiplayer battle. At the end of the match you gain experience as well as the two potential currencies in the game, Silver (Ag) and Gold (Au).

Walking War Robots Features:

– Try out all 11 powerful robots in battle.
– Choose between 15 different weapon types.
– Use deep upgrade system, to increase your robot’s firepower, speed and durability.
– Face your enemies in 6vs6 team multiplayer with huge variation of tactics.
– Enjoy beautiful 3D world, turned in a giant battlefield!

Silver is used to buy equipment and robots. It can also be used to upgrade weapons to higher levels. Silver is awarded for a variety of accomplishments during battles, including capturing Beacons, dealing out damage to the enemy, and various other things. Gold is used to buy the best equipment and robots. It can also be used to speed up  your upgrades (like increasing your robots firepower, speed and durability). Gold is earned during battles by being on the winning team and winning medals. All in all there are 13 unique robots that you can purchase each with different stats and load outs and 19 different weapon types for you to play with.

That being said, the game is free to download in the Google Play Store, and was originally released on August 4th. However it seems like it is now the game’s official (and global) release time. The game does support IAP’s and I have not played long enough to know if its a pay to win format. I do know that in the short time I have been playing the game I have been enjoying my self and find it a very promising title.

The graphics could be a tiny bit more polished but then again you have 12 players on the field which is a no small feat and the details that they have included like smoke trails from missiles and the audio are immersive. The maps that they have are large but at this time there don’t seem to be a huge variety. I am not sure if game pads are supported but i think that would definitely add some more strength to the controls. If you are looking for something new and love robots and multiplayer battles it’s worth the download to check it out since initially it wont cost you anything.
