[UPDATE: Game Released] Kabam releases a new gameplay trailer for their upcoming Star Wars Uprising game

During E3 2015 last month Kabam announced a new Star Wars game they would be publishing for mobile devices called Star Wars Uprising. In case you missed that announcement, this game takes place between the events of Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens, bridging the gap between the two time frames and filling in the story between the two.

[UPDATE: Wednesday, September 9th – 2:48 PM, PST] It looks like release dates are becoming more flexible. If you have been waiting for the arrival of the latest Star Wars game, your wait is over. Star Wars: Uprising is now available to download in the Google Play Store. The game is free-to-play, and does include optional in-app purchases. The link to download the game can be found at the end of this article.

This will be a class-less game, meaning players will be able to custom build their character to how they want to. So players will choose the faction they wish to join and from there they set out to level up their character and equipping them with the best gear. There will be hundreds of skills according to Kabam, and these will be made available through the actual gear you are equipped with, which is where the whole class-less system takes place. So while your character could be a Smuggler, Bounty Hunter, Rebel Guerilla, other Star Wars ‘classes’, or something entirely new, how they are built is completely up to you.

The new preview trailer, shown above, was taken from an Alpha build of Star Wars Uprising. It shows some of the gameplay and how it will take place, as well as some of the inventory and characters in the game. It even shows some of the cut-scenes and multiplayer content. This is Alpha footage though and while releasing a video showcasing this gameplay is pretty much a confirmation as to what we can expect when the game fully launches, some of this could change before the actual release.

We also now have a bit better of an idea as to when this game will be launching. In the video it states that Star Wars Uprising will be coming in September 2015, so we do have a bit of a wait still. If/when a beta starts up, we will post an update. Hopefully the monetization in this game isn’t as aggressive as some of Kabam’s current titles.
