Dragon Quest VII will be landing on mobile on Sept. 17th in Japan

Square Enix is gearing up to release a new Dragon Quest game this week, that being Dragon Quest VII. However, Square Enix has announced this particular release for Japan, not mentioning anything about a Western release happening this week. That doesn’t mean it won’t be coming to the West though as so far most Dragon Quest mobile releases are available here as well.

In fact there apparently was a micro-site up by Square Enix for Dragon Quest VII and its upcoming release, and that happened to mention that it would be coming to the West. However that has since been taken down, further pointing to the fact that this week will only see Japan getting this game.

Dragon Quest VII for mobile devices takes place on the islands surrounding Estard and the mysteries surrounding those islands. Players will also be traveling through time to confront monsters and other evil beings that threaten the lands. You have all the features you would expect to find in this release being there including a full class system, character customization, and plenty of storyline and quests to deal with.

As of right now, Dragon Quest VII is slated for release in Japan on September 17th, which is Thursday of this week. As for a Western release, that is up in the air for now it seems. We will post an update once we learn more or hear back from Square Enix about a Western release.
