Telltale Games next big series is only a couple of days away from landing onto mobile devices, with PC and Mac users getting the game today. While a couple of days isn’t a whole lot of time to wait, it is enough time for Telltale Games to put out another trailer for Minecraft: Story Mode and have everyone checking it out.
Update: October 15th, 2015 12:06pm PST: Telltale Games has finally unleashed Minecraft: Story Mode onto mobile devices. The first episode, called Order of the Stone, is now available and will cost you $4.99 to snag a copy of it. There are IAPs as well, but those are for future episodes. If for some reason you’ve missed all the coverage about Minecraft: Story Mode, this game has players taking on the role of Jesse, who you can pick to be either male or female. Once you’ve decided which way you want your character to be, including how it looks since there will be a few different skins to choose from, you will set off to try and save the world.
You’ll embark on a perilous adventure across the Overworld, through the Nether, to the End, and beyond. You and your friends revere the legendary Order of the Stone: Warrior, Redstone Engineer, Griefer, and Architect; slayers of the Ender Dragon. While at EnderCon in hopes of meeting Gabriel the Warrior, Jesse’s friends discover that something is wrong… something dreadful. Terror is unleashed, and you must set out on a quest to find The Order of the Stone if you are to save your world from oblivion.
The first episode is called The Order of the Stone, with a total of five episodes planned for this series. There’s a lot of stars doing voice work in this game as well including Patton Oswalt as the male Jesse, and Cathrine Taber as the female Jesse. Other actors involved include Brian Posehn, Ashley Johnson, Scott Porter, Martha Plimpton, Dave Fennoy, Corey Feldman, Billy West, John Hodgman, and Paul Reubens. These are just the regular cast members and not actors who will be making guest appearances in future episodes.
Minecraft: Story Mode Episode 1: The Order of the Stone will be landing on Android on October 15th, 2015, which is this Thursday. We will, of course, post an update here when episode 1 is available on Google Play. Until then, enjoy the new trailer below.
