Real Racing 3 celebrates the 20th anniversary of McLaren’s victory at the Le Mans with new update

EA’s Real Racing 3 has received an update today in celebration of the McLaren victory at Le Mans 20 years ago in 1995. Part of this update will put players in the driver’s seat of the car that won that race years ago, the legendary McLaren F1 GTR which is still a damn sexy car even by today’s standard.

While players will be able to drive the McLaren F1 GTR in the update, you will also have a chance to win a McLaren P1 GTR. However, the update isn’t totally about the McLaren cars. While there is a total of three new cars from McLaren, there also happens to be two new Corvettes added to the game as well – the 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray 427 and the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Coupe Z51 3LT (C7).

Winning the new cars will be done by competing two of the new events in Real Racing 3:

Event #1

The “Born for Victory” eventis where players can celebrate McLaren’s historic triumph at the 1995 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race and win a McLaren P1™ GTR (available now)

Event #2

Starting November 15, with the “Stingray Evolution” event, where players can revel in the muscle car to win the awesome Corvette Stingray Z51 (starting November 15)

The McLaren 20th anniversary update should now be available for download off of Google Play. Since it was just released, if you don’t see it right away, give it a few minutes and it should show up. It can take a bit for an update to propagate throughout Google Play. You can check out the trailer for this update in the video above.
