First it was the first episode of Tales from the Borderlands going free permanently, and now Telltale Games has done the same thing to the first episode for their Game of Thrones series as well. Starting today, anyone who doesn’t have the first episode installed can now pick it up for free off of Google Play.
For those of you not familiar with this series, Game of Thrones: A Telltale Series is based off of the HBO show and not so much off of the books. While it is based off the TV show, it doesn’t follow the storyline exactly either. Instead it tells the story of House Forrester who end up getting caught in a tight spot with the battle for the iron throne heating up.
On top of the new that the first episode is now permanently free, Telltale Games has revealed the release date for the finale for Game of Thrones. The final episode will be launching across all platforms simultaneously, just like they are doing with the Tales from the Borderlands finale. If you have been playing the entire series, the final episode is called The Ice Dragon and will be arriving on November 17th.
The epic conclusion to the season is the most ambitious and diversely presented episode we’ve ever produced. The fate of House Forrester has been in the hands of players all season long, and the finale will be tailored to provide a uniquely harrowing conclusion for each and every player based on the decisions they’ve made in the game thus far. – Kevin Bruner, CEO and Co-Founder of Telltale Games
