OtterWorks has a new game called Light of Life currently in development

OtterWorks is an indie game development studio with two games having been released onto Android over the few years the company has been around. There is Fall of Cutie and their arcade space shooter Escape Velocity. Their newest game that is currently under development is called Light of Life and it has a pretty interesting concept to it.

In Light of Life players will be taking control of little dots of light. The universe was once a clean and empty place, void of life, until a Supernova happened. When this event took place, seeds of life scattered throughout the universe, landing on various planets. These seeds would eventually form Life Trees which, even though they have grown, are not awake and spreading life throughout their planet. This is because they need the light of life to awaken them, which is what players will be controlling.

Players will be descending deep into different planets, collecting seeds along the way while activating life crystals which illuminate your path. Eventually you will find that particular planet’s Life Tree, and awaken it so that it can spread life across the planet. Of course there are hostile anomalies that you will need to deal with. Players will have 5 chances to repel an anomaly’s attack. If at any point you collide with one, it is game over as your light is snuffed out.

Luckily there are some special abilities/power-ups that players can take advantage of, such as slowing down time. Once you’ve finished one planet, you will move onto the next. Each galaxy has a randomly generated amount of planets, so even if you do complete the game, it won’t be the same if you go at it again.

Unfortunately there is no specific release date or pricing information for Light of Life. Since the previous two games from OtterWorks were released onto Android and iOS, it is more than likely that this one will as well. We have contacted the developers for more information and will post an update once we hear back. In the meantime, you can check out the game in action via the video below.
