Skateboarding game called ‘Skater’ will be getting an Android release in the near future

A new skateboarding game is heading to Android soon simply called Skater. Unlike a lot of games in this genre, Skater focuses solely on three things, doing tricks, your shoes, and your board. Players have different skate parks and course that they can skate through with all the ramps, rails, and anything else you could want.

When skating through your selected park, you can do whatever tricks you know. Everything is in a first-person perspective as well, which is actually pretty unique for this type of game. Tricks are done using different swipe gestures and players will need to keep their momentum going as well, using short downward swipes when on the ground. Once in the air, or on a rail, the tricks you do are based off of the subsequent swipe gestures you make before landing.

One of the other unique features in this game is that pretty much every trick in the actual skateboarding sport can be done in this game. The developers best describe this themselves with just how much you can do trick-wise in Skater:

Jump from Ollie, Switch, Fakie and Nollie and perform all standard flip tricks; with the inclusion of body rotations you can even do tricks such as Front-Side Flips and Big Flips. With recent updates now including Late Flips, Reverts, Ghetto Birds, Impossibles, Dolphin Flips, Dragon Flips and Gazelles. Chain everything together with manuals, nose manuals and every kind of grind and slide.

We mentioned earlier that two of the other items this game focuses on are your shoes and your board. That’s because Skater includes all of the latest shoe styles and decks from companies such as DC Shoes, DGK, etnies, Emerica, éS, Foundation, Lakai, Toy Machine, Zero, Baker, Deathwish, Shake Junt, Pig Wheels, Bro Style, and so on. You can customize how you look before heading out to try your hand and chaining tricks together.

Lastly, the locations in Skater are actual real world ones. Currently included are El Toro, Carlsbad Gap, Hollywood High, Stoner Plaza, Camp Woodward, Love Park and The Berrics. All of these locations have been recreated down to the last detail including the actual graffiti found at each spot. The developers also plan to add more locations in future updates.

Right now Skater is currently taking pre-registrations for the Android version. Unfortunately there is no exact release date for when Skater will be landing on Android, only that it will be arriving soon. You can check out some of the gamplay in Skater with the video above. We will post an update once this game arrives or we learn of a launch date for it.
