Recently Snail Games announced a mobile MMORPG version of the Age of Wushu PC MMO game that would be heading to Android and iOS soon. Also recently, press and a few other folks were able to get some early hands-on time with the game itself. Well now we have a time frame as to when everyone will be able to get their hands on Age of Wushu Dynasty.
[UPDATE: Wednesday, January 6th – 10:43 PM-PST] If you have been waiting for the latest martial arts game, then your wait is over. Snail Games has made Age of Wushu available for download in the Google Play Store. The game is free to download, and does include optional in-app purchases. We had the opportunity to participate in the beta, and this game is pretty fun. If you are interested in checking it out, you will find the link to download the game at the end of this article.
For those of you not familiar with this franchise, Age of Wushu is an MMORPG for PC gamers that features fluid martial arts style combat and the ability to pretend you’re in a martial arts movie and jump over buildings and treetops. Age of Wushu Dynasty is essentially that game but for mobile devices instead. Players will select which martial arts house you want to represent in-game, all of which comes with their own style of martial arts and even classes specific to a certain house. From there you head out questing, leveling up, and trying to become the best.
The mobile version includes the same aerial acrobatics that the PC version has, and can either be performed automatically or manually. They can even be incorporated into combat as well. There is also an open world style of exploration, especially when you come into one of the numerous towns. From what we saw in our early hands-on time with Age of Wushu Dynasty, there is a lot of content coming with this game right at launch.
We will be diving more into the game and our hands-on time with it later this week. There is a lot of detail to this game in most areas including skill customization, weaponry, crafting, and so on. However, Snail Games has announced that they are planning to release their game onto mobile devices in January 2016, although no specific date was announced.
