Telltale Games announces the official release date for The Walking Dead: Michonne

Telltale Games’ upcoming mini-series The Walking Dead: Michonne is something we’ve reported on a couple of times already, having been keeping our eye on its development. Well it looks like Telltale Games is finally close to being ready to release this little series onto the world as they have finally announces a premier date for it.

For those of you not familiar with who Michonne is or happened to have missed our previous coverage, The Walking Dead: Michonne will be a three episode mini-series that follows the story of a character named Michonne. Up until today, there hasn’t been much in the way of details revealed about this mini-series, and no screenshots either. Now we have both!

The first episode in The Walking Dead: Michonne will be called In Too Deep. As for what we can expect story-wise, here’s the synopsis Telltale Games revealed:

Michonne joins Pete and his crew on the sailing ship The Companion as they cruise the coast for survivors and supplies. When a desperate signal for help draws them to a scene of horrific massacre, Michonne and the crew are lead further to the floating survivors’ colony of Monroe, which may just be harboring the person responsible for the carnage.

Michonne will actually be portrayed by award-winning actress Samira Wiley, who you may know if you watch Orange is the new Black on Netflix. If you follow The Walking Dead comic book series, this mini-series takes place between issues #126 and #139 of the comic book, which is when Michonne disappears. This will be filling in that gap.

Telltale Games will be doing an extended preview of The Walking Dead: Michonne on YouTube this Sunday, February 14th at 8:30pm EST / 5:30pm PST. You’ll be able to see the first 5 minutes of gameplay from the premier episode. Then the company will actually release Episode 1: In Too Deep on February 25rd, 2016 for mobile devices on Google Play, Amazon’s Appstore, and iTunes. All other platforms will get this on February 23rd.

All three episodes will be available for $14.99 once the first episode is release. Episode 2: Give No Shelter will be launching in March 2016, and Episode 3: What We Deserve will be landing in April 2016.
