Handsome Jack Gets Villainous on Shield Android TV in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel

Starting today, you can download Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel on Shield Android TV and enjoy a pivotal chapter in the story of Pandora. Borderlands 2, launched in 2012, was what you might call “a big deal.” The series had earned itself a number of fans ahead of that point, certainly, but the second installment in the series brought with it an explosion in popularity. There were numerous reasons for that growth, and one of them was a memorable villain in the form of Handsome Jack.

There still is no sign of a Borderlands 3, but 2K Games hasn’t let the franchise lie dormant. In late 2014, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel debuted on consoles and PC. It explored the events that occurred between the original Borderlands and its beloved sequel, with a focus on Handsome Jack and his rise to power. Happily, it also featured the same blend of shooter and RPG mechanics that made the previous two games such a success, and it introduced a variety of new vehicles and gameplay features.

In Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, players control four different characters led by Handsome Jack on a mission to destroy a military force known as the Lost Legion and save the Helios space station. Each playable character in the game also possesses their own unique strengths and abilities, which are important to utilize wisely in order to overcome challenges such as defeating Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel’s boss enemies. The game also introduces low-gravity environments as well as different weapons with various properties including incendiary, freezing, corrosive, explosive and electric.

It’s worth noting that the Android edition on Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is available only on Shield Android TV which is mainly due to the visuals and gameplay being optimized to use the Tegra X1 processor. If you own a Shield Android TV, you can download Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel from Google Play for $14.99.
