[Update: Controller Support] Fans of team-based shooters should check out Gangfort, now available from Google Play

Released by Gangfort, this particular game of the same name is a 2D team-based multiplayer shooter. Seeming to draw its inspiration from the likes of Team Fortress 2, with Gangfort actually having a lot of the same features as TF2, but implementing them differently. With that said, this game uses the ever popular retro-pixel look and is played exclusively in 2D.

Update: May 5th, 2016 8:22am PST: For those of you interested in this game and were wondering about controller support, the developers are planning to add full controller support. In fact that is currently the top of their list for features to add for the next update which shouldn’t be too far off time-wise.

Gangfort contains nine different classes for players to choose from: Rusher,  Builder, Torcher, Yash, Marine, Mass, Dealer, Agent, and Camper. There are currently only two different playable objectives: Grab the Spot, where you try to keep the opposing side from stealing the spot away from you, and Roll the Bomb, where players attempt to roll an oversized bomb into the enemies’ base.

This game contains both single-player content, where the other characters are simply NPCs, and multiplayer, which can function over WiFi, LTE, and even 3G connections (though the game’s page does note that this may cause latency issues, so it’s not recommended). For these types of games you will usually want to stick with WiFi or LTE/4G.

Gangfort includes both achievements and leaderboards via Google Play Games, and is surprisingly small at only 15MB. The game is available from Google Play for a flat $1.99 with no IAPs either. There is no mention of controller support, so we will post an update once we know.
