Plague Inc may also be getting a board game if their Kickstarter is a success

Yesterday we reported on This War Of Mine getting its own physical board game and that 11-bit Studio’s Kickstarter campaign has begun. We also said it is usually physical board games getting digital adaptations and not the other way around. Well it looks like the ‘other way around’ is becoming a trend as Plague Inc is looking to get a physical board game as well. Of course this solely depends on how successful the Kickstarter campaign for it is.

If for some reason you aren’t familiar with Plague Inc, this game has players trying to kill the world’s population through customizing and mutating a virus, helping it spread through all the countries of the world until everyone is dead. It has become quite popular since its original release as a Flash-based game, then eventually coming to other platforms like Android. Now the developers are looking towards a physical board game.

The goal? $34,000 to bring the board game to life and has already raised around 30% of that goal. This board game will have 2-5 players battling it out to be the first to kill humanity in the same way as they would in the digital game, by mutating and spreading their own virus. Interestingly enough, the idea for the board game has been in development for over 2yrs, so it is pretty polished and ready to go as it is.

In addition to receiving a discounted copy of the game, all pledgers backing the game via Kickstarter will receive a Kickstarter-exclusive ‘Patient Zero’ pack, featuring exclusive, mildly humorous crowd-funding themed content such as the ‘Repetitive Strain Injury’ trait card and the ‘Crowd Funded Soap’ Event Card.

So, if you want to throw a couple of bucks to help support the final production of Plague Inc’s board game, you can hit up the Kickstarter campaign to do so.
