Build the largest and craziest castle for the king in Mad King Ludwig’s Castles, now available for download

Released by Jeremiah Maher, Castles of Mad King Ludwig is the digital port of a physical board game that has just been released onto the Android platform. For the uninitiated, the source board game is a quirky and somewhat humorous contest based around the idea of building. The goal of the game is to build up a castle that is worth the most points at the end.

How they’re built can be very unconventional, with bonus points being awarded for having the most of a particular type of room (such as recreation), the longest contiguous hallway, or the most dead ends that lead no where in particular. Each round of the game, a different player determines the prices of the randomly available rooms for that round. Each player purchases one or more in turn, and attaches it to the castle that they have thus far constructed. After a set number of turns, the player with the castle worth the highest number of points is declared the victor.

Castles of Mad King Ludwig Features:

• Two to Four Player Pass-and-Play/Computer Matches
• Campaign Mode with Levels based on Real Castle Sites
• Training Tower Levels teach Game Basics
• Help System with Illustrated Rules, Tips, and Tile Reference
• 75 Different Room Tiles
• Orchestral Soundtrack
• Share Your Castle on Twitter, Facebook, and more
• Google Play Games Achievements

The game perspective is that of a top down view, as if one were playing the physical board game. Castles of Mad King Ludwig itself is available from Google Play for a flat cost of $6.99, and no IAPs either. You can check out the game’s trailer ahead of time below.
