Clear outer space of both debris and monsters in Galactic Junk, now out on Google Play

Released by Upside Down Bird, Galactic Junk is a space shooter for the Android platform, that’s recently been released. In this game, players will be assuming control of star ship, only that ship has defective engines. So the only way this ship can be propelled into motion, is by firing the turret in the opposite direction from which players would seek to go.

What’s more, the ship has broken down amidst a section of space that is overly laden with debris, so players will need to shoot at the detritus in order to clear paths, or avoid collisions that can damage hull integrity. There are also a variety of upgrades available to players, in order to help them along their way, such as spread shots or other types of firepower, as well as physical upgrades that allow players to harmlessly bulldoze their way through the junk, or better armor.

These are purchased via players clearing the junk out to begin with. On top of simply traversing space, there are also enemies that will need to be dispatched. All of this is handled in a free floating format, reminiscent of the Atari classic Asteroids.

Galactic Junk is available for free from Google Play, but does contain ads. Check out the trailer to see more of the game in action, below.
