Albion Online has been in a number of closed beta testing phases over the past couple of years, and now the final beta testing phase has begun for Legendary Founders. Epic and Veteran Founders will also be gaining access to Albion Online this week, so have no fear if you don’t own a Legendary Founders pack.
For those of you not familiar with Albion Online, this is a sandbox MMORPG that has been in development for quite some time. Not only is it a sandbox style of game, but it also features full cross-platform support, meaning both mobile and PC gamers can play this game and at the same time on the same server. In this game players can do almost anything they want to do. You can focus on questing and combat, or focus on crafting, buy/selling good and so on. You can even build a house for yourself, or a whole entire town that other players can come visit. Or you can keep it private, the choice is yours.
How you build your character is also completely freeform. Your abilities are tied to the gear you’re equipped with, so swapping out pieces of gear for stronger ones will open up stronger abilities for you to use. Depending on the type of gear you are using, you can be a mage, archer, or warrior, and have abilities to match the class you are playing through the gear you’re wearing for that class. You can also be a hybrid class, as long as you have the appropriate stats to do so.

There’s pretty much all of the features you could want in an MMORPG in this game as well, including Guilds, PvP, Auction Houses, and more. PvP is available in the open world in designated zones in the beginning, or you can enter a very large area where it is completely PvP friendly. This Final Beta will also apparently have a much larger world than previous betas, so there will be a lot more to explore.
If you own a Legendary Founders pack, you’ll be able to begin the Final Beta today at 12:00 UTC/14:00 CEST/05:00 PDT. Epic Founders can join tomorrow at the same time, and Veteran Founder will be able to join August 3rd, also at the same time.
