XL Games and Gamevil’s upcoming mobile version of ArcheAge is almost ready for launch

Almost 2 years ago we reported on a partnership between XL Games and Gamevil, which was supposed to result in a mobile version of ArcheAge arriving at some point in the future. For whatever reason, after the initial announcement nothing else really ever came to light about this mobile version. Well it looks like XL Games has been working on this and it is actually close to release.

For those of you unfamiliar with ArcheAge, this game was originally released for the PC and comes with a fantasy theme. What sets this particular MMORPG from the plethora of others out there is that it features a rather unique class system. Players are able to customize their character into one of the 120 available class combinations available. On top of that, there is also a staggering 20 different types of crafting in this game, the ability to build houses, farm, trade, forge alliances, and it is all set in an open world environment. In other words, there is a lot to do in this game just with your character alone, and not including the dungeons and other activities.

The name has been changed as well over what was originally planned and will now be called ArcheAge Begins. It is also still being built using Unreal Engine 4 though, so we can still expect some good eye candy to go with all of the content. Unfortunately there’s no screenshots or anything for this game just yet, but there is a trailer!

It actually looks like this mobile version will get finished and launched, with Gamevil still publishing it. There’s already an official site for ArcheAge Begins where you can sign up for updates, and eventually pre-register for the game itself when it gets closer to release time. As for when the release will actually happen, there’s no specific date announced, only a general time line of next month. Once we learn more, we will post an update.
