Pokemon GO gets updated today with additional tweaks and… Grass

Pokemon GO has already received another update, making this the second within a week’s time. This particular update brings a variety of tweaks that enhance the gameplay a bit more, and instead of the in-game radar returning, we got ourselves some grass instead.

The place where folks used to see the in-game radar, which used 1,2, or 3 animal footprints to let players know how far a particular Pokemon was, now has grass instead of nothing at all. The in-game radar has been bugged out for awhile, getting removed eventually, with even the animal tracks getting removed in the update from last week. Instead of a working radar though, we got some rather pleasant grass instead. No, the grass has no functionality. So it isn’t like the more blades of grass there are, the further away a Pokemon is.

Other changes and tweaks include:

– Added a dialog to remind Trainers that they should not play while traveling above a certain speed; Trainers will have to indicate they aren’t the driver
– Fixed a bug that prevented ”Nice,” ”Great,” and “Excellent” Poké Ball throws from awarding the appropriate XP bonuses
– Enabled the ability for Trainers to change their nickname one time, so please choose your new nickname wisely
– Other fixes

We haven’t been able to confirm that the strange (and big) increase of Pokemon running away, or that some Pokemon you catch switch to another Pokemon once it lands in your bag, has been fixed. However, we are pretty sure that at least one of these falls into the ‘Other Fixes’ category in the changelog.

As for when the radar will make its return, hopefully that will be soon. In the meantime, enjoy the grass.
