A new unique survival game has landed on Android called The Mars Files by Loco Games

Loco Games Studio has released a new survival / gamebook hybrid called The Mars Files onto Google Play. This game is one of those more interactive style of gamebooks, even though a lot of the content is actually text-based. On top of that, you’ll need to worry about resources and other mechanics that you actually normally find in an RTS or similar types of games.

In The Mars Files you will be taking control of a colonist who has somehow gotten themselves trapped on Mars. In order to survive, as well as rescue any other astronaut that somehow gets themselves stuck on the red planet, you’ll need to build a base, gather resources, build defenses and so on, all while following the storyline of the game. You will need to make sure you manage your resources properly, or you’ll end up without any and unable to survive.

The Mars Files Features:

– Text-based survival gameplay: A whole story unfolds as the game advances and your text inputs might trigger various endings upon what you choose in different situations.
– Mars exploration: Discover new locations, collect loot and fight lots of aliens along the way after collecting enough resources to venture out
– Build facilities & collect resources: You have limited resources thus you’ll need to use them wisely and build facilities that generate what you need to survive.
– Craft weapons & fight aliens: Exploring the planet will put you in front of hundreds of unknown alien monsters, one deadlier than the other.

As you progress through the game, your choices will affect the outcome when you reach the end. This does mean that there are a number of different endings to The Mars Files, which also gives this game a fair amount of replay value if you’re into finding all the ending in any particular game you play.

For those of you looking for something a bit different in the gamebook world, you might want to check this one out. The Mars Files is available off of Google Play for free and does come with optional IAPs as well.
