[UPDATE: Release Date] Brain&Brain’s upcoming Burly Men at Sea gets a new trailer today

Indie developers Brain&Brain have released a new trailer for their upcoming title Burly Men at Sea. This particular folklore adventure is actually really interesting looking, mainly thanks to its rather unique storybook narrative style, both in terms of gameplay and its visuals.

UPDATE: Tuesday, August 23rd – 2:39 AM, PST: Brain&Brain updated us last week to let us know that Burly Men at Sea will be coming to mobile devices at the end of September. September 29th, you will be able to enjoy this unique title, that is awash in unusual colors, characters and story. It will be releasing for Android, iOS and on PC/Steam at the same time. It looks like everyone will be able to get in on the fun. If you play games on PC, maybe you can pull yourself away from No Man’s Sky by then. We are going to check it out on mobile though. We don’t have a price for the game yet, but when we do, we will update this post.

For those of you not familiar with this game, Burly Men at Sea has actually been in development for a bit now and has actually been nominated for a few rewards. Set in early 20th-century Scandinavia, this game is about a trio of large, bearded fishermen who make the decision step away from the ordinary life they have been leading to seek adventure. Players will learn and follow the game’s storyline through a series of encounters with creatures from folklore.

You be playing as storyteller and ‘wayfinder’. Think of it like being a Dungeon Master in a Dungeons & Dragons game. This means you will be shaping the narrative around the characters through interaction with their environment. So it is kind of up to you how the whole thing plays out.

Burly Men at Sea is actually being developed by a husband and wife indie developer team. As for when this game will be available, right now there is just a general 2016 time frame for both the PC and mobile versions. Once we know more about the release details, we will post an update. In the meantime, enjoy the new trailer below.
