Daedalic Entertainment releases The Virus: Cry for Help onto Android today

Daedalic Entertainment has teamed up with POPCLAIRE to release a new game for mobile devices today called The Virus: Cry for Help. POPCLAIRE took care of the development and publishing part of the game, while Daedalic Entertainment wrote the actually story for The Virus.

This particular game is a post-apocalyptic adventure game where players will decide how the whole thing plays out, based off of your choices of course. However, it all takes place in real-time so it is a little bit faster paced than your average adventure game of this nature. As you figure out how you want to play through this game, you’ll receive text messages which you’ll need to answer as Hanna, which is where you’ll be decided the course of your adventure.

In regards to the storyline, here’s what you can expect with The Virus:

A whole city belongs to the dead and a devastating virus turns people into mindless monsters. Hanna’s a survivor and right now she’s fighting for her life… and you receive her call for help.

The Virus Features:

– Real time adventure – Hanna will frequently send text messages – any time – in real time within the app or via push notifications.
– Players uses their smartphone or tablet to communicate with Hanna (in-app or via push)
– The player decides the course – trivial decisions may have an astonishing impact on the story.
– How the story ends is in the player’s hand.
– Additional military channel with background information.
– Cinematic soundtrack.
– Engaging atmosphere.

The Virus has a number of different endings that you can find, so there’s quite a bit of replay value with this one. Another good feature is that this game doesn’t require an internet connection to play even though it does use the notifications on your device of choice. When a notification does come in, you can respond from within the notification without having to open the application as well.

For those of you wanting to check out The Virus: Call for Help, you can grab a copy off of Google Play for free and it does come with optional IAPs as well. One thing of note though, some users are reporting a bit of a freezing problem with the game right now, but only on occasion. Hopefully this gets fixed quickly as the game is pretty good.
